The restoration of the 17th century mill in La Bisbal d'Empordà recovers the original volume and adapts it to current needs. The intervention focuses on restoring the structure, recovering the floors and consolidating the walls. A large and fluid space is created, maintaining the crossed views to the plot and establishing a connection with the landscape and the castle.

The new body is developed from the roof module and is placed where the old raft was, respecting the direction of the original facades and creating two distinct sides, the north, more closed, protecting from the tramontana, and the south, with large openings that take advantage of sunlight to heat the house and offer views towards the garden.

The material is traditional and simple, with current technologies. The wooden roof includes photovoltaic panels for sustainability. The outdoor space, with native vegetation and a salt pool, favors respect for the environment and achieves a harmonious relationship between architecture and landscape.
