Paradisus by Meliá Bali
CMV Architects, in collaboration with ASAH, is leading the comprehensive renovation of the 494-room Paradisus Bali resort, located on the shores of Nusa Dua, 12 km from Ngurah Rai International Airport. The project proposes a complete modernization of the existing complex while preserving the spiritual, natural, and cultural essence of Bali. Although the intervention does not alter the original masterplan, the spaces are being reconfigured to improve connectivity and strengthen integration with the natural surroundings.
The renovation includes the full refurbishment of the common areas, Balinese villas, and guest rooms. New additions include a beachfront beach club and restaurant, with sand extending further into the site to reinforce the connection with the ocean. A new adults-only area is also being created, conceived as a hotel within the hotel, featuring a private pool and direct access to the sea.
The spa, integrated among the existing villas and the resort’s tropical gardens, follows traditional Balinese architecture. In addition, new sports facilities, a renovated convention area, a water park, a kids club, and family rooms are being introduced, expanding the resort’s offering for multigenerational tourism.
The renovation of the resort’s eight restaurants and four bars maintains a thematic narrative aligned with Balinese identity, while the kitchens are being completely transformed. The interior design throughout the complex incorporates natural materials such as local stone and wood, maintaining harmony with the surrounding landscape.
The lobby is conceived as a space that represents Balinese culture, functioning as a living museum of local heritage through the integration of handcrafted elements and traditional decorations. The landscaping, also designed by CMV Architects, uses native plants adapted to Bali’s climate and natural materials. Ambient lighting is seamlessly integrated into the landscape, creating a unique atmosphere in harmony with the environment.
