Villa Sirerers
Renovation of an 18th-century Mallorcan farmhouse
The old farmhouse, known as a possessió in Mallorca, had been abandoned since the 1950s.
The renovation consisted of adapting the main building and auxiliary structures to modern living standards, while maintaining the character and charm of the original building.
The central element of the project is the new main staircase, made of Corten steel and located in a different position from the original, which provides access to the upper floors.
The intervention highlights the traditional architectural elements, restoring arches, woodwork, stone and ceramic sinks, and combining them with contemporary materials and solutions.
The landscaping project also plays a prominent role: traditional agricultural production of carob and almond trees has been restored, and a small vineyard has been incorporated for domestic wine production.
The areas surrounding the dwellings were designed according to sustainability criteria, resulting in a constantly evolving Mediterranean garden with staggered blooms and different shades depending on the time of year.
