Costaterra
Wild beaches and the ocean on edge invites to develop an architecture that blends with the landscape. Sober lines, clean design and light colors that combine in exquisite elegance.
Large openings and extensive terraces project the exterior in every corner of the house.
The selection of materials acquires great relevance when it comes to highlighting the local character.
The project combines contemporary influences, timeless aesthetics and breathtaking panoramic views. With attention to every detail and carefully curated, it is the perfect place to relax with an outdoor, elegant and minimalist lifestyle.
Located in Melides, this single-family home is an example of architectural integration and respect for the environment. The project is situated between cliffs, pine forests and golf courses, with open views of the Atlantic Ocean. An attentive architecture, which adapts to the site and respects the environment.
The design, by CMV Architects, is based on three staggered volumes that adapt to the topography and allow the spaces to be organized on three levels, generating privacy, cross ventilation and natural light in all areas. The house uses local materials such as white stucco, natural stone and traditional Portuguese tiles, in coherence with the regulations of the urbanization.
The house faces south to capture the sun in winter and is protected by the porch and vegetation to ensure thermal comfort in summer. It is designed to promote coolness in the hot months, closing to the north to protect from the heat, since in that orientation does not affect the direct sun during the summer.
Meanwhile, in winter, the sun enters more horizontally and penetrates the interior, bringing natural warmth. In addition, the house is not compact: it is slightly fragmented to allow cross ventilation and a better entry of sunlight, thus optimizing air conditioning throughout the year.
